All of our Glass products are Toughened (or Tempered) to EN12150 Class 1 Standards. The process of 'Toughening' alters the chemical structure of Glass by way of controlled heating and cooling, which results in it becoming at least 5 times stronger and more resistant to impact. Toughened Glass is also safer as in the unlikely event of breaking will shatter into tiny granular pieces as opposed to large jagged shards. This makes it essential for all Interior Glass Products and Furniture to be Toughened. Explore More
The Glass Chair Mat comes with 3 sizes of Silicone Bumper Pads for use on different floor types - smallest size for hard floors, medium for small pile carpet/rugs and the biggest size is for large pile carpet/rugs - these are applied to the bottom of the chair mat for stability and grip. We also include a lifting wedge which can be used when moving or re-locating.
Your Chair Mat will be delivered by Courier carefully package in cardboard and inner protective layers. On the packaging you will see instructions on how to proceed with unboxing.
- First bring your packaged chair mat to the area you wish to install it.
- Stand it upright against the desk with the side labeled 'Open Here' facing you.
- Proceed to carefully remove the outer cardboard and inner protective layer but do not remove blue foam or cardboard between the chair mat and the floor.
- This will reveal the 'bottom' of the chair mat where you will apply the bumper pads suitable for your floor type - there will be a diagram enclosed
- Once bumper pads are applied, gently lower the chair mat down into place (still resting the bottom on foam protector.
- once in place remove all remaining packaging.
Clear Glass chair mats are the same on both sides. However, for printed or coloured mats the dull side where the print was applied is the 'bottom' . We will always package the chair mat to reveal the 'bottom' where bumper pads are applied.
- The smallest bumper pad is for hard floors such as wood or tile, do not use the larger ones here as it will create a trip hazard.
- The medium size is for standard pile carpet/rugs.
- The largest size is for deep or heavy pile carpet/rugs.
When moving or re-locating your glass chair mat always use two people protective gloves.
- Use the lifting wedges provided - careful push them in between the glass and floor to lift the mat slightly.
- proceed to lift the chair mat with two people, being very cautious not to clip the glass edge off anything.
- If standing the mat upright always cushion the glass edge from the floor and wall with cardboard, foam, or rubber material.
- Never rest the glass edge directly on stone, metal, tile or glass surface.
